Crushing in the Kitchen with Cyndy: Hibiscus

Hi, again, everyone and happy February! This is also National Heart Month, so in honor of hearts everywhere, those that are with us, and those that have passed on, my blogs and products will be dedicated to all things heart related in February!

On another note, I am planning to make this a regular weekly series on Thursdays/Fridays. With that said, I do work full-time, attend college, and create more products and art, so I will do my best because it is so important to me and I LOVE sharing! If there is a specific condition you want to know about or anything alternative at all, just email me at cyndy@soullifespurpose.com.

Now, lets get to this weeks feature… Hibiscus! I am so excited to talk about hibiscus this week. It is not only my very, very, very, very favorite flower, it is one of the most beautiful flowers, too! If you’re not familiar, it's a tropical flower, (see picture below) that comes in many variety of tropical colors. Hibiscus is in the same family as several other flowers such as Rose of Sharon, Roselle, cacao, yes, chocolate, and, get this marsh mallow! Beauty and some awesome relatives!

But wait, there’s more, there always is with me, hibiscus has many medicinal qualities as well (her siblings have quite a number of benefits, too). My next favorite thing about hibiscus is that hibiscus is good for the heart… and love! Hibiscus has also shown to be good for lowering blood pressure, protecting the liver, fighting cancer, and reducing body fat! What a power-flower, right!?

Sadly, hibiscus doesn’t do so great outside of summer here in Wisconsin, but it isn’t impossible. Here’s a link to Perfect Plants where they tell you exactly how to care for your outdoor hibiscus in Winter:

Be on the watch for Hawthorne and hibiscus to show up a new product I’ll be launching later this month! I am so excited about this oil! 💜
